CLAMPING WITH SIMPLICITY

Two ply arms cut to a size or proportions (from say 12mm ply) to suit your needs. A leather hinge at the left hand end of the picture. A strip of rubber from an inner tube (or a ring cut from an inner tube of a motorbike). Couple of tacks and some contact adhesive to fasten the hinge. You could put a disk of ply on each side of the jaws to suit some types of clamping.
