Windsong was built by John and Matthew as the gate prize for the Auckland Boat Show and is pretty much as per the original plan.. The winner a young family man used her a few time for fishing before selling her to Chris and Annette. The Peard's had built a Jeanette design of Johns prior to this. They rigged Windsong and have had many happy days since. She is still wearing the paint job from the show four years ago and will be having a refit this winter. Currently she is a yawl but has a centreboard. Chris intends modifications to a lifting board while the refit is in progress. Some other modifications are planned to seats and bulkheads. The Peards have sold Windsong, the pressures of bringing up a family, running a successful panelbeating shop and untold hours running the committee boat at Torbay Sailing Club being the reasons. Chris and I are still good mates and look back fondly on our Navigator days. Products, designs, opinions and concepts on this page have passed the first taste as being worthy of your attention. I cannot however take responsiblity for the eventual outcome of purchasing, using or incorporting any of these. |
